Market Updates 1/9/25

Dear Friends, Vendors, and Community Members,
Again, We hope this message finds you safe during these challenging times. These fires have heavily affected Los Angeles County, with so many of our friends and community devastated, losing their homes and livelihoods.
For Friday – Both Monrovia Street Fair & Altadena are closed.
The Monrovia Street fair area is fine, however, most of Monrovia does not have power at this time. Altadena, the Park where we hold the market is gone, along with so many homes throughout Altadena. We also have a couple of vendors that we know of that have lost their homes in Altadena as well.
For Saturday – Monrovia Saturday & La Canada are closed.
As of today, Downey will be open. We are waiting to see if the Level 2 Evacuation order is lifted for Calabasas and how the Palisades Fire will affect Calabasas for Saturday.

For Sunday – Pacific Palisades (Antioch, where 1/2 the market is, is sadly gone) Swarthmore faired better, but the devastation of all the houses and businesses lost in Pacific Palisades is incomprehensible at this point. Palisades will remain closed for the time being.  For those Palisades vendors requesting to join Brentwood or other markets, please be patient with us as Brentwood was completely full so I need to figure out the spacing to be able to add additional vendors.

As of today, we are planning to open the following markets this weekend:
Downey
Calabasas
Brentwood (pending fire path and smoke in the area)
Melrose (pending Sunset Fire and Smoke in the area)
Porter Ranch
Westlake
Larchmont Sunday (Pending Sunset Fire & Smoke in the area)
Channel Islands

We are accepting donations of gift cards & New Bedding items for our vendors. You can bring those to the market you attend and the manager can turn them into the office to be distributed to the vendors and community members in need. Thank you in advance! If you have customers that want to donate we will be setting up pick-ups for Packaged Foods, New Bedding & Gift Cards at Westlake, Brentwood & Calabasas Markets this weekend. Should they be open. We will be sending another weekend update regarding markets tomorrow with more concrete information on some of the markets that are in question for being open this weekend.
Again, In light of these circumstances, we want to extend our support to you. If you need anything—whether it’s resources, assistance, or just someone to talk to—please do not hesitate to reach out. We know many of our vendors as well as your customers have been directly affected and the thoughts of our entire team are with everyone who has been impacted. We are all in this together, and our priority is the safety and well-being of everyone involved.
Please stay safe and take care of one another. We will navigate this situation as a united community and come out stronger on the other side.
All our love & support,
Melissa & the Entire Farmers Market Team
